Houston, TX: On Tuesday, Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) announced the relocation of its global headquarters to Northwest Harris County from San Jose, CA. The campus, which will be located in Springwoods Village, will officially open for business at the start of 2022.

Bringing the global headquarters of a Fortune 500 company to our area brings the possibility of hundreds of new jobs to our region. These jobs will be an addition to the approximately 2,600 employees HPE already has in our region. HPE described Houston as “an attractive market to recruit and retain future diverse talent” in their fourth quarter earnings release.

“We are excited that Hewlett Packard Enterprise has chosen to call Texas home, and I thank them for expanding their investment in the Lone Star State by relocating their headquarters to the Houston region,” said Governor Greg Abbott. “Hewlett Packard Enterprise joins more than 50 Fortune 500 companies headquartered in the Lone Star State, including 22 in the Houston region alone. That is because Texas offers the best business climate in the nation.”

HPE, founded in 2015 following their separation from HP, is a global enterprise information technology company focused on driving digital transformation by using value from every aspect of data.

“I am thrilled to have a Fortune 500 technology based headquarters locating in our own backyard,” said Bobby Lieb, President & CEO of the Houston Northwest Chamber of Commerce. “My hats off to CDC Houston, Inc. and development partners at Springwoods Village, the Greater Houston Partnership, and the Governor’s office for pulling this deal together.”

“The decision by HPE further demonstrates the great business climate we have in Northwest Houston,” said Lieb. HPE will be neighboring with Exxon Mobil, Southwestern Energy, Hewlett Packard, Inc., and ABS Shipping to the master planned community of Springwoods Village.
